PSE reaches agreement with Arlington schools

Public School Employees of Washington reaches three-year agreement with Arlington Public Schools
APS PSEMembers of the Public School Employees of Washington (PSE) voted on Nov. 27 to approve a contract with Arlington Public Schools. This bargaining agreement updates many language items and provides a 6.7% raise for the 2023-24 school year that will keep our classified employees competitive with surrounding districts. It is a three-year agreement that provides for negotiation of wages prior to the second year of the contract. This is a three-year contract which expires Aug. 31, 2026.

“Thanks to both the PSE and district bargaining teams for their hard work in reaching an agreement,” said Arlington Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “Our classified employees serve in critical roles in our district, and work alongside our teachers and other staff for the success of all students. We are pleased that an agreement was reached.”

“I am super proud of the negotiation teams for bringing forward a contract that will enable Classified Staff to continue to impact our students' lives,” said Nanci Johnson, PSE President. “A special thank you to all those that worked hard to get us to an agreement and to the community for their continued support.”

The Arlington School Board approved the agreement on Nov. 27.
