Director - District 2

Ms. Sheri Kelly

Kelly

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I now call the beautiful state of Washington my home! I am grateful to serve as a school board director for the Arlington School District where I have been a resident since 2013.

I home schooled my three children through the Stillaguamish Valley Learning Center before they moved on to Arlington High School and the ORCA Running Start program at Everett Community College  As students, they participated in band, National Honor Society, robotics summer camp, Girls and Boys Club, and the YMCA Youth and Government program. Each is now a college student; two are at the University of Washington in Seattle and one is at Western Washington University in Bellingham.

I have a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Western Governors University and am currently a kindergarten teacher in the Lakewood School District. My professional background is eclectic as I have been employed both in the realm of education and in various sales and managerial roles.

Since moving to Arlington, I have taken advantage of the opportunities that exist for parents and community members to play an active role in our schools. I have served on the Advisory Council for Education (ACE) for over six years, joined the Arlington High School Booster Club as Director of Fine Arts for two years, served as the YMCA Youth and Government Advisor for Arlington School District for three years, and was part of the Stillaguamish Valley Learning Center Advisory Team.

As our community continues to grow, new demands are placed on the Arlington School District. To meet these demands and maintain high quality education, I believe having a collaborative environment where the school board, parent body and district work together to understand, plan for, and address the changing needs of our school community provides the most benefit. Arlington’s students have the most to gain from positive, effective leadership where I hope my participation as a board member will help to continue to move the district in a positive direction and meet the needs of all students.
